Fixing of cast iron gates
One Cast iron main gate of width 14 feet and another cast iron wicket gate of width 2.5 ft were fixed on concrete pillars of size,50 cmx 50 cm(three nos) after excavating the area for about 4 feet(120 cm).Old rubble work in the area well packed and tight due to continuous lorry runs for construction were completely removed to ensure proper concrete footing and base for the gate pillars. As the gates were very heavy,it was a tough job with more man power working for about a week to get the gate fixed in position along with concreting of support pillars.
Gates were raised sufficiently up from the ground level by about 23cm to take care of future level raising of the road in front.Picture show the gates immediately after fixing
